Limbo
This was performed in simulator mode between two Octanes. I am not
sure why they did not use the CAVE to demonstrate this application.
Possibly it is because the CAVE is configureded for the Prosolvia Oxygen
software and it is difficult to reconfigure quickly (just a guess).
Limbo is using the CAVERNsoft tools.
Stereo Animation
I was very unimpressed and a little concerned that this demonstration
of a rendered alias model was shown using the front wall of the CAVE.
This animation was effectively using the WOW technology of stereo
in the CAVE. I can see where this type of rendering could be useful
in a CAVE demonstration. However, it would need to be utilizing
all the walls.
Oxygen in the CAVE
Pranas Pauliukonis demonstrated Prosolvia's Immersive Space module for
Oxygen in the CAVE. I was impressed because apparently Scott brought
a copy of Immersive Space from Sweden (it is not released yet)
and Pranas got it to work. On a routine support call to Sweden
they were surprised tolearn that Pranas was able to get it working!
In the image Pranas demonstrates a golf course model using a
Fakespace pinch glove as the input device. The model was created for
an industrial client who designs golf courses (Snead). The data
set was polygon heavy so the frame rate was very low. They
could solve that problem by mixing texture mapping with modelling.
