SGI & Virtual Exhibitor

I attended a very awesome lunch event in which Infobyte and SGI were showing off the Virtual Exhibito to an elite group of Museum people.

The software itself recieves a grade of Fair. The really interesting aspect of all this is that there is starting to be a need for software to interact with Virtual Environments. The selling line is that you should not have to get a staff of programmers to do this stuff just use this product.

The software was priced at ~30K and could import models from most CAD type packages. The most excellent feature was the "infinite resolution" feature. Basically, it was a built in level of detail for the texture mapping of paintings. That was nice.
