CD Burning

List of Software Needed:
Steps for CD creation on a PC:
- Download and Install mp3 Napster and/or mIRC
- Go to http://www.download.com and search for
mIRC or Napster
- For more information on mIRC and Napster click here
- Follow the downloading instructions from the website
- Install the program onto your computer
- Download and Install mp3 encoding/player software
- The mp3 player I used was called UltraPlayer
- Go to http://www.download.com
and search for mp3 players
- Also remember to make sure to find a player that can encode mp3's into .wav files
- Follow the downloading instructions
- Instal software onto your PC
- Use mp3 Napster and/or mIRC download mp3's
mIRC
- mIRC is channel based, meaning the user connects to one of multiple servers and
and from that sever joins a channel
- Search for channels with "mp3" in their name
- Read the advertisements running in the channel
- example advertisement:
For My List(200files:951MB) and DCC status, type @TheirName and @TheirName-stats
[(2/6> slots (2/240) ques taken] [next send: open slot ready] [CPS in use: 7035][Highest cps record: 36.1 by
SomeName][Total File Served:400]
- Request a list of someone's mp3's by entering @TheirName into the channel
- Accept the download
- Read the list and find the mp3 desired
- Copy and enter the mp3 filename into the channel
- example: !Sender'sName 01 - Artist - Song Name.mp3
- The user is put into the sender's que and waits until it is their turn to receive
- To ensure not overloading the sender be sure to request one or two songs
at a time, else the user may be banned from the channel

Napster
- Search for Artist and/or song title
- Select and download desired .mp3 file
- For full instructions for Napster click here
- Use mp3 player/encoder to convert .mp3's to .wav files
- Use cd burner software to create a cd using Easy-CD audio
- Open Easy-cd audio
- Choose File > New CD layout
- Locate directory on hard drive where .wav files are
- Choose the .wav files you want to be on the cd
Note: There should
be a little bar across the bottom of the window showing how
much space you have remaining
on the cd you are making
- Place cd-r disc into drive
- Choose create cd
- Select your burning options from here such as write speed and wether you want to
complete a test run of the burning process first
- When ready choose ok
- Use Easy-CD audio software to create cover and playlist for cd jewel case
- To create a playlist choose View > Jewel Case Layout.
Playlist automatically pops into jewel case layout. Edit as needed
- To place pictures on the cover choose Edit > Insert New Object > Create from file.
Choose the image you want
- Adjust size and position of image as desired
- Choose File > Print
- Cut out the printed materials and place in jewel case
- Final analysis
- Before making a final decision on anything be sure it is exactly how you want it
because there's no going back on burning
- After you're done play the first track and the last track to
ensure that the cd was created properly
- Remember to convert mp3 to wav or else regular cd players won't be able
to play the music
