NCSA CAVE Demonstrations
Proposal requirements:
The primary mission of the NCSA VR facilities is to support
the scientists and industrial partners at NCSA. However,
to attract interest in the application of this technology
for research in science and engineering,
CAVE demonstrations are provided to NCSA industrial partners,
Alliance partners, the Beckman Institute and under-represented groups.
They are not provided as a conference tour stop or
as an amusement. In order to
accomodate a large number of groups within the limited
timeframe available, the following requirements must be fullfilled:
1) An initial abstract on who the group is, the group
contact information, number of people in the group,
the purpose for having a CAVE demonstration and the
dates/times you wish to visit the CAVE.
2) A fee of $100/hour for the tour. The fee, tells us that you
are seriously interested in the technology and not simply
providing an amusement for your group. An account number
for the transfer will be provided once a date/time for the
demonstration is approved.
These requirements are used as a guideline in administering
demonstrations in the CAVE. All requirments are subject to change
and exceptions may be made to accommodate special circumstances.
