Videoconferencing and streaming multimedia will become important tools in the Post-Web computational Infrastructure of the Alliance. Demonstrated at the Access-DC Open House will be high resolution, low latency videoconferencing amoung various location at the LES into the Access-DC center. Using 768k bitstreams, vtc units in the third floor machine room at NCSA's Advanced Computation Building, NCSA's Numerical Lab in the Beckman Institute and in the EOT training facility in NCSA's Computer Applications Building will connect to various applications demonstrations throughout Access-DC allowing virtual application sharing and remote collaboration over the Internet.

Additionally, a "Live from the Access Open House" live streaming multimedia web-accessable stream will allow viewers throughout the world to share in the Access experience. Using RealNetworks streaming protocol, a single 200kbps stream will leave the Access-DC facility to feed the multiple-unicast streaming server in the Beckman Institute. From there individual streams will be served to individual viewers. Viewers should be able to open http://alderaan.ncsa.uiuc.edu/live2.ram to view this webcast.

Visualization services, including Media video production, interactive multimedia technologies and SGI-based computer visualization support is provided by NCSA's Visualization Technology Group (vts@ncsa.uiuc.edu).
