The Shodor Computational Science Institute
We are solving two problems: how to develop teachers and faculty who can teach computational science with competence and confidence, and how to design and deliver effective curricular materials to support such education and exploration. We will exemplify our efforts with two selections under development: GalaxSee (an n-body simulation running in both local and distributed versions) and Surface (simulated annealing solutions of optimal energy configurations in two-dimensional charged systems). We will also discuss the workshops available for faculty.
