I will be on road then so will plan (attempt) to be in a cell phone friendly area and will dial in. Call should not take too long. We need to discuss the items I drafted up and any others you have so we can give John a budget by early next week. If 10am is not good lets plan on 2pm. thanks john z At 11:33 AM 9/20/2007, John Towns - NCSA Cog wrote: John-- Small world!! Great to hear from you. I am mostly trying to get a sense of costs for these things since we have utilized staff at various sites to support these conferences to date and we had a pretty good experience in hiring a meeting planner for the last conference. Unfortunately, they are not available for the coming year so we are interested in seeing the options. The rest of today is pretty much shot. I could make a window at 10-11am CT tomorrow or at 2-3pm tomorrow. Let me know if either would work for you. Thanks!! -John At 07:34 AM 9/20/2007, John Ziebarth wrote: John, I told Shelly Olsan I would respond since you and I know each other and I know (or knew) NCSA. I hope all is well with you and congratulations on the NSF Track 1 win! I have had a couple conversations with Anita Broeren and Thom Dunning since Krell is a Great Lakes Consortium member and hopefully we will at some point be partnering with the GLC on some education activities. The Krell Institute does put on conferences when they have some strategic technical focus such as the one you mention. Costs depend on many things; such as, hotel/meeting venue food arrangements needed web site and registration management requirements staffing needs travel needs technical session organizational requirements technical publication requirements etc Best way to understand all this is for you and I to talk. We have a full time meeting planner, Michelle King, so a three way call between all three of us is best. I am at Argonne today so how about a call for tomorrow (friday) morning. Do you have some available times. I could also talk later this afternoon if Friday is not open. thanks, John Ziebarth Sr VP and COO The Krell Institute www.krellinst.org <http://www.krellinst.org/> 515-956- |
