Galen Arnold Current work projects and interests: consulting and training, parallel filesystems, Blue Waters supercomputer, performance tuning, debuggers, and GPU programming. |
A little more information about me:
Galen graduated from the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign in 1987 with a BS in mathematics. He's been using
math, computers, or both quite a bit since then. As a system engineer with
NCSA, he enjoys helping people get the most out of HPC systems
such as: Blue Waters and Xsede systems with GPUs. He's part of the Blue Waters applications
support team as well as working with the Xsede project on software testing.
His wife Terri
is a cartographer/hydrologist with the US Geological Survey in Urbana [just
across the street :-) ] .
What others might say describing me: wears a tie to work many days, sings in church choir, takes lots of photographs, always looking for a good buy on fresh honeycomb or Corvette parts. | ![]() |
